We’ve been traveling around Europe on honeymoon, and stayed at the Ambassade Hotel while in Amsterdam.

We are so happy with our choice of hotel!
It was perfectly centrally located, making everything within walking distance.
The staff are incredibly kind and helpful.
A few small examples:
They had a power adapter in the room for us upon arriving.
We decided to stay and extra few nights and switched rooms.  They handled the luggage transfer.
They made several reservations on our behalf.
They helped us mail a package, providing the supplies and mailing it on our behalf.
Room service is 24 hours.

Also, the library bar is unique and delightful. I am confident you will not regret your decision to say at the Ambassade Hotel!

A great experience in this amazing hotel, we have enjoyed our stay very much! What a lovely room, overlooking the canal. And we were very happy with the service of the staff, the nice food at Brasserie Ambassade with the artwork, and the cocktail we had in the Library Bar. Also recommended: floating and massage at their wellness centre, wow so relaxing.

We had a great stay in the quad room for four nights. The location is ideal, all the staff were really friendly and great with our kids (6 & 8). Breakfast was delicious and a highlight to start every day. Hopefully we’ll be back at some point!

The place was very neat and clean. Very organized. Spacious room and the breakfast bar is a big plus! The host was very helpful in every manner. The bathroom has a salon style door which could use a lock but that wasn't a big issue. The location is a big advantage. It's right by the dam square and most of the tourist spots are at a walkable distance. Totally recommend staying here.

Overall quite satisfied.
here are some feedback and points I find important to let other visitors know in advance:
1.we were not welcomed by anyone, instead keys were left in a safe box,
this is okay but we did not know about it. when no one responded to the
door ring and no one picked up the phone when we tried to call This
caused some panic. luckily there was a nicer neighbor who helped us
contact with the host.  later I found out that a detailed email was sent a
week before.  I somehow missed it . that could have been easily
avoided if a reading confirmation was requested so the host would
maybe try to reach us in another way.
2. the bed is really tall, I couldn't see what 2 mattresses are needed for.
not a deal breaker, just not very comfortable
3. the tub and the toilet  are too tall, making it very uncomfortable to walk
in and out the tub. I'm not extremely low (181)  and yet, heels could not
touch the floor (Apologies for the description) a small step can be
really helpful.
4. room does not provide much privacy as the curtains are  see through
(can easily be changed) and we could hear every step taken by our
fellow gusts.
5. there are no shelves inside the closet, only hangers, drawers under t.v
were not very comfort to use.

I know it might sound like a bad review, but it really isn't these are things that can be easily fixed.
on the other side of this review , the location is simply the best.
the room is clean and feels very cosy  nicely decorated and well equipped.

I accidentally booked a room here on wrong dates by Airbnb and I had to cancel after 20 mins because I was not able to travel on those dates. They charged me 133 EUR for nothing. I asked for help to refund the money many times, but they didn’t care. Even Airbnb accepted to refund their service fee, but they didn’t. Definitely not recommended!!!

This place was right by everything to include the train station. The staff was very friendly and helpful. My husband and I enjoyed the pool and sauna. We purchased the option that included breakfast and the food was amazing. We also went to the bar one night and had a great time and the drinks were not watered down. This place will not disappoint.

The hotel is in an excellent location, right in the heart of Amsterdam and a stone’s throw from the main train station. There is no car access to the hotel so if you’re coming by rental car or taxi you have a challenge. We were dropped off around the corner and had to walk five minutes when we were picked up by a taxi.
The staff is friendly, especially the concierge. The receptionists are all friendly towards guests but they have a less friendly jargon with each other. They all seemed insufficiently trained because both check-in and check-out took significantly longer than at other hotels.
The rooms are quiet, small and have everything you need (but bring your own slippers). Cleaning was okay, but not perfect. The desk was not clean at all with sticky stains all over. The air condition and lighting kept turning off after a certain time period (short, maybe 20 minutes).
The breakfast is good. The lunch buffet was rather spartan with a soup and then English sandwiches with cheap ham or salmon.
The big bar by the reception is very nice with many cocktails that were perfectly made.
Apart from the location there is nothing that would compel us to come back though. We would rather try something different next time.

Great location. Easy access to metro as well as the trains and busses. Easy access to many canal cruises as well as many restaurants. There is a bike rental very close by. Hotel concierge is very helpful. Has a pool and a sauna.

USA style plug adapter is required if you need to plug in your computer or phone but those can be purchased next door.

Had a really nice stay at this hotel in the capital of the Netherlands. Simply put it’s an amazing top quality hotel. From the warm reception, nice room, the wellness facilities, beautiful skybar and friendly staff. The beautiful greenery makes you feel as if you’ve submerged yourself in to the tropics. Definitely worth a visit and them some hundred more. Will definitely be coming back.

We loved our stay in the Jakarta from the excellent concierge to the indoor jungle to the delicious cocktails. Superb facilities and staff.

I appreciated staying in a quieter part of Amsterdam having spent times in the busy areas, yet it's only a couple of tram stops away from the centre.

We stayed at The Jakarta Hotel for 2 nights in early April 2022 while attending an evening event at the Maritime Museum that is located 5 minutes away.
The level of service and friendliness shown by all staff was exceptional.
The design and layout of the hotel is different to any other that I have experienced which makes it both interesting and refreshing.
The rooms are of a high quality but do include some  design choices that are no to my personal taste. For example, a wardrobe that has the hanging rail at a right angle to the wall which makes accessing any hanging clothes other than those at the front extremely difficult, a bathroom that is open plan to the bedroom which means that there is no way of having a shower or wash while your partner is sleeping and basins that have no means of storing water (no plug).
The service and food offered in both Westers Bakery and Cafe Jakarta is excellent.

Lovely park for pedestrians! Family friendly, elderly friendly, and pets friendly park!

There’s a beautiful bridge that connects the city and the woods area of the park. Mini-golf station inside the park, and beautiful cherry blossom trees! (Will have to return during spring time to see it). They even have a meditation center for a mini urban retreat. 🧘🏻‍♀️

Huge park. Was very empty when I went during the week. I have been told it can be very busy on a sunny weekend. There is lots to do here. From mini golf to playgrounds to a petting zoo.

Beautiful park to have a great time with family, friends or even alone. Some different paths to follow. The only point is the small place for the kangaroo, as the park is big, his place could be a bit bigger

Summary of our stay here is excellent hospitality and customer service.

We had an issue in our room where the night light would not turn off. We called the front desk and they sent a technician. When it became evident it was not being resolved immediately, to our delight, they did not hesitate to upgrade us immediately to a bigger room.

Additionally, the excellent service at the breakfast. With fast service on seating and beverages delivery by the lovely waitresses, it was always a great start to our day. Many thanks to Jocelyn, Aida Barerra Rosanna, Edna

The service from the moment we arrived was exceptional. We were greeted by Veronique who instantly made us feel welcome and checked us in. Every member of staff was attentive warm and friendly, taking care to ensure our experience was one to remember and personable. The breakfast was amazing and the atmosphere to match in a beautiful setting. It was a couple's break for my birthday and the staff/hotel made sure our stay was extra special with amazing gestures which will stay with us. A massive thank you, would highly recommend and if or when we are in Amsterdam again, we will definitely be staying here again ☺️.

Location location location!!! This is where you want to be. Everything is basically walking distance. And it’s just a nice area. Hotel was beautiful, very clean. Staff is extremely helpful and kind. Rooms are spacious, clean, beds and comfy. We got upgraded twice. Would definitely recommend and come back here. Housekeeping comes early- very thorough and refills everything !!! There’s water, a nespresso machine and tea kettle as well in the room. Breakfast is actually very decent although not many vegan options, but my
Husband enjoyed it. They also have non diary milk :)

I would recommend this hotel for an Amsterdam mini break. It’s only a 10/15 minute tram ride from the city centre so an easy base and quiet at night. We paid around £340 including city tax for a 3 night break for 2 people which was much cheaper than anywhere central and it’s nicer than any other hotel I’ve stayed at for that price.

We didn’t try the restaurant so can’t comment on the food but the roof terrace was lovely and the views from the bar were great. I wished they didn’t have such loud pumping club music on the roof at all times, even 10am, it ruined the atmosphere a bit and also there are no lights or heaters up there so it’s dead after sunset which seems a waste!

The view from our room was spectacular, two walls had floor to ceiling windows the whole way across. It was nice and clean, plenty of space for two with a big shower. No proper toiletries though only an all in one hand wash/shampoo/shower gel. Bigger towels would be appreciated.

We booked the deluxe queen room although it was two single beds pushed together which made it much bigger than queen sized. However the middle of the bed where they joined was such a dip we kept rolling into a pit, it was quite difficult to climb up hill to reach the edge of the bed and made my back ache. Also the bed didn’t have a headboard which was annoying as you can’t sit up in bed and pillows slide about.

Whoever said sound proof rooms, yeah absolutely not. At 1 am we were woken up because the people in the next room were slamming absolutely everything. If you want your room clean they will not unless you ask for it , they only do it at every 3rd stay. Picture added of what I mean.
But otherwise,  room was perfect great great location and that view was incredible. The tram is right down the street with 10min away from Center City ,a park next door perfect if you have children. Breakfast was amazingggg its a buffet style so nobody to bother you , which we enjoyed. Gentlemen was extremely sweet and staff we did encounter super friendly. We did eat at the restaurant it was good "hotel food" but glad we only did it once and ate out the other days. It was overpriced but again "hotel food" but one and dine kinda of experience so no complaints. Disappointed with no bartender for drinks on a Sunday and the roof bar was really really sad , I'm hoping it was just off season because the pictures are definitely not what we saw when there.
Overall, we would definitely stay again. Parking is expensive wish it was included in the stay with 25€ a day but again the location of the hotel was perfect!!

We stayed for 3 nights over Easter, expecting a 4-star-hotel, but ended up with unmade beds for 3 nights, no wash-cloths, a broken room safe and a neglected roof top terrace. Certainly overpriced for the holidays with apparently no staff. Just glad, that the (self-served) breakfast buffet made up for a practically non-existent service. Strangely enough, the reception desk could not even provide the requested invoice for the stay, only for city tax. Amsterdam deserves better, it's a lovely city!

The hotel was based in a good location with excellent transport connections to all main attractions in Amsterdam. The rooms were clean and comfortable although we didn't spend much time in doors. The staff were pleasant and delivered outstanding customer service. My two year old vomited up all over the bed sheets at 10pm and the Manager himself came to help. This studiously hospitable attitude was typical of all my experiences with the Dutch people during my visit, for which I am eternally grateful - missing it already.

Great location right by the tram! However service is practically non existent at the hotel as they replaced workers with check in kiosks and no one works the reception. Pillows were also weird as they looked like couch pillows so we had to get a bunch more to make it a proper size to sleep on. Otherwise rooms were big and comfortable.

First of all, the location of the hotel was excellent, a little distance (not too far though) from the madding crowd yet easily connected via public transportation. The tram 2 connected to the Museum district directly. It was easy to hop on and hop off. Very accessible.
Second, the staff at the reception were amazing, they had all the information and guided us wonderfully during our stay. They were pleasant, friendly, warm and very helpful.
Third, the rooms were very comfortable. The bathrooms were quite spacious. We stayed in 3 other hotels during our vacation to Holland and Germany. XO was the BEST overall.
We will recommend this hotel to whoever visits Holland next.

I stayed in the queen room. I loved it. The room is really pretty styled and I slept fantastic. The shower is really nice and the room is big. It’s in the middle of Amsterdam so everything is nearby.
The only thing I missed was a long mirror and a lock on the restroom. These are really just some things that could make my stay perfect and they aren’t meant as complaints !

My fiancé and I had the most wonderful 3 night stay in Amsterdam and this hotel was the crowing glory of it. Our room was so lovely that we actually ended up spending more time in the hotel than we had planned to. The room was very stylishly decorated and had tea and coffee making facilities, a lovely comfortable bed with nice pillows, a nice big shower and an amazing view of the canal.
The hotel staff were incredibly friendly in person and also incredibly helpful whilst I was making the booking. It was my fiancé’s 40th birthday and when we arrived they had put balloons and a little note on the bed for him. To top it all off, the hotel is perfectly located, really close to all the touristy stuff. When we next come to Amsterdam, I wouldn’t dream of staying anywhere else!

Stop what you’re doing right now and BOOK this hotel!!

I stayed over last weekend (I’m a solo traveller) and when I say I was SOOO pleased with everything about this hotel, I mean it. First of all, the staff are BRILLIANT. Kind, helpful, friendly & sweet. The reception was open 24/7, my rooms were made up every day, the location is WONDERFUL! Pretty much 15 mins to get everywhere (less on trams).

Check in was so quick and smooth (I even checked in 3 hours early), check out was just as smooth. I was able to leave my luggage for a few hours on my last day (post checkout).

For the people complaining about the noise - my room was facing the bars and I was on the first floor. To be honest, I could hear some noise but get with it, that’s what you get for a centrally located hotel. You’ll most likely find that kind of (bearable fyi) noise everywhere. Also, it honestly wasn’t even that bad! You’re so tired from walking everywhere that you’re fast asleep before the debauchery really even begins.

I’d give it a 6 out of 5 stars if I could.
