Chapel of the Souls
One of the most famous church since it’s totally covered in azulejos! I’ve never seen anything like it. It’s located on Rua Santa Catarina in the Bolhao area, which is the major shopping street. Thus, in the afternoons it’s very crowded and hard to take photos of. Instead, come early in the morning before the shops open!

Clérigos Tower opened its doors in 1763, becoming the highest bell tower of Portugal, with over 75 metres. In 1753 the Italian architect Nicolau Nasoni was invited to design and build this magnificent Heritage, considered National Monument since 1910. The famous church was built in the eighteenth century, between 1732 and 1749 and this was the most emblematic work of the architect Nicolau Nasoni. Is one of the most beautiful temples of baroque feature, and a reference in the history of Porto. The Exhibitions allow to discover the history of the Brotherhood of Clérigos, admire pieces from the eighteenth to the nineteenth century, in painting, furniture, jewellery and vestment collections. Christus collection, on the 3 floor, is a trip through time and space where art and religion complement each other.

Dom Luis Bridge
Dom Luis Bridge is a true icon of the city of Porto and a marvel of 19th century engineering. The Dom Luís I Bridge spans the River Douro between Porto on the north bank and Vila Nova de Gaia on the south bank. The banks of the River Douro are granite. Spanning the river in two different locations less than a mile apart are the bridges of Luis I, King of Portugal and his royal bride, D. Maria Pia. The bridge of Luis looks remarkably similar to that of Maria. Both bridges have enormous iron webs and arches supporting transit over the river. The reason they look alike is simple. The D. Maria Pia bridge was designed by Gustave Eiffel, famous for his tower in Paris. The Dom Luis bridge was designed by Teophile Seyrig. Seyrig had partnered with Eiffel on the D. Maria Pia bridge and the Eiffel Tower. The span of the Luis Bridge is 564 feet and the height is 146 feet.

Soares dos Reis Museum
If you decide to visit just one museum in Porto, make sure it's this one. The outstanding collection of Portuguese art spans from the 16th to the 20th centuries and includes sculpture by António Soares dos Reis, the country's celebrated 19th-century sculptor after whom the museum is named.

Church Francis
The Franciscan Order was established in Porto around 1223. Initially, the order was antagonised by the secular and clergy of other religious institutions, particularly by the bishop of Porto. It took a papal bull, the Bulla Doelentis accepimus by Pope Innocent V, to restore to the Franciscans the plot of land previously donated to them. They began building the convent and a first, small church dedicated to Saint Francis of Assisi around 1244.
Casa do Infante
Reconstructed medieval customs house that now serves as a museum & archive of the city's history.
Esplanada do Teleférico
Across the river in Vila Nova de Gaia is Esplanada, aka the “Terrace Bar”. This restaurant/bar has a stunning patio that overlooks all of the Douro River and Porto. It’s romantic all day, but especially great for photos at sunset. Order a fancy cocktail for photos and stay until dusk to watch the city slowly light up! I really think it’s one of the best spots in Porto for sunset happy hour and I loved kicking off our trip to the city with a glass of Port and watching the sunset over the city here.

Bolsa Palace
The Stock Exchange Palace is a historical building in Porto, Portugal. The palace was built in the 19th century by the city's Commercial Association in Neoclassical style. It is located in the Infante D. Henrique Square in the historical centre of Porto, designated World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Visiting the inside of this palace will undoubtedly offer you a different experience.

Cais da Ribeira
Porto's riverside quarter is an alluring labyrinth of narrow, winding streets. Facing the River Douro, though, are terraces of lofty townhouses painted in bright mustard, tangerine, and tawny hues – the Ribeira is an adventure in color and flavor. A plethora of restaurants and cafés set under the arches along the quayside makes this the most popular area in the city for relaxing and socializing.
