Eriks Fish and Chips is a 100% gluten free fish and chip restaurant with certified gluten-free options. It is located in central Auckland and worth checking out for excellent customer service, delicious food, and affordable prices.

Celiac Friendly! My partner truly appreciated the effort put into creating 100% gluten free fish'n'chip option for her. Great staff and food. Worth a visit.
Nicely fried cauliflower bites, tasty but could be better if flavoured slightly. Spring rolls were good, chips were unfortunately too crispy and fried - maybe the end of the batch? They weren't fluffy at all, which is a shame as previous batches we've got have been nicer.
The worst Fish n Chips I have ever had in NZ. $30 later, soggy uncooked chips, $3.50 "bluff" oysters that tasted awful, and we're about the quarter of the size of a true bluff oyster. Avoid this place, take a 5min drive to Albert Town F&C shop. Far superior. Since I cannot reply to the message below, I have this to say; I know how bluff oysters are cooked and also the size, given I lived in Bluff for 4 years and ate them regularly. Thanks for the oyster lesson anyway! To those travelling to Wanaka, I cannot emphasis further to not go to this place. I have posted a photo below of Fish'nChips from a true shop in Lincoln, ChCh. $16 later, half the price of the rubbish I received from Erik's. If in Wanaka, go to Albert Town fish and chips. 10min drive, and worth every minute of it! What a scam!!!

Ode Conscious is a vegan-friendly fine dining restaurant that focuses on using the freshest local produce available. The dishes are known to change based on what's in season, and you can choose from the three course trust chef experience, eight course flagship menu (which changes weekly), or thirteen course degustation.

Everything was delicious! My favourite was the tartare entree but everything was perfect.
Fantastic experience from start to finish! We chose the 8 course menu - each plate was carefully prepared, using all fresh and local organic ingredients. The chef comes to present each plate and you can feel his passion! It is also so great that he cares so much about the environment and uses only in season ingredients ALL from New Zealand! There is also a story behind each dish which is quite interesting. Reserve in advance and don’t miss out on this culinary experience! Just one thing..be prepared for a long meal ;)
We did the 3 course trust the chef - would have loved to have done the 8 course. Menu is mainly vegetarian, vegan/other dietary requirements can be accommodated with prior notice. We all loved the experience, 2 people at the table ordered the meat option but said when they dine again they be happy with the vegetarian menu. Nice people, great concept that I hope is supported!! For the food offering/experience I found the price reasonable. Looking forward to trying the 8 courses next time!

Located in the heart of Albert Town, Double Black Cafe is a popular spot for locals and tourists alike. The café serves delicious food and top-quality coffee, making it perfect for refueling on your way around town. With dishes like the Asian Pork Benny and the The Double Black Original Hash, there's something for everyone to enjoy at this locally loved cafe.

Beautiful food at this gorgeous atmospheric cafe. Gluten free is amazing here. It is not labeled GF because they use what flour and rice flour in the kitchen. Just ask Staff. The service is attentive and super friendly. Lovely place . The best food ever !!!
Really good café. We had Japanese hash and Double Black Benny, both were well cooked and tasty. Coffee was also well made, with nice latte art to boot. The interior is quite nice although a little look due to lack of soft furnishings, but nice enough. Service was friendly. The cinnamon bun was the only slightly disappointing thing food wise, while it was technically a good piece of bread the cinnamon flavour was too light and it wasn't sticky enough, but I guess that is subjective.
When passing through Albertown last week and wanting to purchase coffee, I was very surprised to be asked if I had brought my own cup and if not was asked to purchase a re-usable cup that could be returned to the cafe. My surprise is due to the fact that at present we are trying to minimize the risk of contracting Covid/Omicron due to a pandemic and this does not seem safe practice either to the staff having to handle the public's personal crockery, or to the public using recycled items. When I asked if I could have a take out cup, this was not an option, so unfortunately I left.

Fudog is an Asian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean restaurant in Wanaka that serves up delicious food and drinks. The restaurant is perfect for any occasion and the staff are friendly and welcoming. The menu has a wide variety of dishes to choose from, all of which are delicious. If you're looking for a great night out with good friends then Fudog is the perfect place to go!

We were recommended this place by a friend and it did not disappoint! Obviously you require a QR code to enter at the moment. Staff were incredibly friendly when greeting us! Great selection of drinks and the food was AWESOME. We opted for the market fish as our large plate, which was pan fried gurnard and it was so delicious. They make their own chili oil and this was a winning addition to all of dishes 🏆
It is a bit out of main restaurants area, and in a bit of hidden place. I loved all the food since Fudog has all the taste that I like as an Asian. Not a authentic but fusion style that is a mixture of East north Asia. The portion wasn’t great compared to price, but I am happy to visit this restaurant again and try other food. We enjoyed the dinner :) Maybe I should’ve not had drinks.
As soon as we walked into this quaint establishment we were greeted warmly and shown to our table which we reserved prior. Once seated we were advised that a better table had opened up on the balcony with a front row view of the mountains (stunning!) Our server was attentive and friendly, he knew the specials off the top of his head and also remembered our big order without writing it down as well!! We were amazed at the tasty food and variety. Every dish had its own flavour and quality - with good sized servings. One of the best dumplings I’ve ever had. Also recommend the Mongolian beef and pork char siu.

Francesca's Italian Kitchen dishes up some of the best Italian food in Wanaka. The restaurant is lovingly decorated with authentic Italian artefacts and the ingredients are all high-quality, local and imported Italian products. A great bunch of love and passion goes into the making of these traditional dishes at Francesca's Kitchen, so you can enjoy a taste of Italy in Wanaka.

Definitely a must-do dinner spot while in Wanaka. Highlights of our meal were the polenta fries, tartufo pizza, chicken pizza (with vegan cheese that actually melted and was good), the mushroom risotto (special of the day), and the tiramisu. Oh my godddd the tiramisu was good. We ended up spending about $50 per person for a three course meal plus drinks. Can’t wait to go back!
Managed to squeeze in on a busy Friday at the start of the school holidays. We were greeted by incredibly friendly staff and were patient with us despite being run off their feet during rush hour. After ordering the Prawn Linguine and Cotto pizza it was delivered to us within 5min! The food was enjoyable but lacked the wow! factor that we have experienced at other restaurants during our South Island road trip. However if you’re in the area it’s well worth a stop in.
What I like about Francesca’s is that the food is very fresh and carefully cooked. The taste is not so strong that you’d feel like having lots of water after the meal. Instead, it is very balanced and satisfying. I will definitely think about their food after leaving Wanaka.

The Cow is a family-friendly restaurant with large portions that have been serving the Wanaka community for over 10 years. It offers a variety of food options such as pizza, pasta and burgers. The atmosphere is dark and cozy, with a large fireplace that won't be lit during the summer. The quality of the carb load is good, and the balanced food makes it a great option for runners, riders and hikers.

Great spot, atmosphere is epic, dark and cozy stable with huge fireplace (but I won’t expect fire on during the summer lol) Great quality carb load place (Runners, riders, hikers take a note) Good balanced food, had to taste few different pastas (liver, seafood and mushroom) and enjoyed pepperoni pizza. Pizza was great but just add few drops of Kaitaia and get a glass of Pinot Noir to turn that to banquet! Really liked the use of liver in pasta, I would just add a splash of brandy to sauce but that’s just my palette.
Fabulous home style cooking at its best! Character filled gorgeous little restaurant, so cozy with an old fire place and rustic tables. Super friendly staff. Generous portions. Get there early!! It’s so popular, recommend at 5pm. We ordered the home baked garlic bread, pasta and Soup of the day. All delicious.
WOW this place was amazing. Staying in wanaka on holiday and thought we’d give it a try. What a good decision that was. The pizza is amazing with not too many toppings but the right amount to give all the flavour but not be over the top. Great atmosphere and very friendly staff that made the experience that much better. Definitely recommend if you are in the area :)

Located in the heart of Wanaka, Dripping Bowl specializes in fresh and healthy homemade soups. They use mostly organic and local ingredients when available, and their menu features mostly refined sugar-free foods. The Dripping Bowl is committed to supporting local farmers and producers, making it a great place to eat if you are looking for sustainably sourced food that is free from harmful ingredients.

We were in Wanaka for my birthday and decided to try out the Acai bowls. Oh my gosh, absolutely amazing! The snickers one could have passed as a dessert. Super sad that I won't be able to have another until we come back down South.
We loved the food from Dripping Bowl! They had multiple options for vegans, vegetarians and meat eaters. The staff were super nice and helpful. There were also a bunch of homemade vegan sauces which were great to put in our bowls. We honestly wished we had more when we finished our food. It's also next to the grocery store which made it convenient to get some fruits when we were waiting for our food.
Delicious buddha bowls of goodness, served by a super-friendly team. Yum as cherry chocolate bar plus delicious coffee and cool drinks. Love that they're open to everyone, regardless of vax status - we need more of that great attitude in NZ. Love this place!

Thai Siam is a popular Thai restaurant in Wanaka that serves delicious food and drinks. The restaurant is big and offers ample seating, making it ideal for groups. It's recommended to get in before the lunch/dinnertime rush as it can get quite busy. There are lots of tempting dishes to choose from, including spring rolls, Pad Thai, and curries. The place has a full bar with wine, beer, and spirits available for purchase.

By far the best Thai I have ever had. Very saucy and full of flavour. Dined in about a 2 weeks ago whilst on holidays and went twice. Ordered the Pad Thai, asked for no egg, no fish sauce and added tofu. AMAZING! Very accommodating staff and aware of what vegan is. They were very busy that night and the food was taking some time so they brought over complimentary thai spring rolls. The second time I went I had the Fresh spring rolls as entree which came out very quickly and the Pal Ke Mal Noodles as a main, asked for no fish sauce to make it vegan and added tofu. Forgot to ask for it mild so it was a bit too spicy, but the flavours were on point. So saucy and oh so good. Would highly recommend!!
Delicious Thai food, we ended up going to dinner here twice. We ordered appetizers and stir frys. The servers are friendly and our meals came out quickly. The stir frys were fresh and the meat was nice quality. This place also seem to be popular for takeaways with lots of people popping in for pickups. I liked the professional photos of the food on the visual menu. Very nice
The food quality seem to have slightly dropped over the 6 years I've been here. I think I'm quite a good judge given that I dine here every time I pass by Wanaka. But still, an extremely good eatery for your Thai fix! The Tom Yum steamboat we ordered this time round was really flavourful and could easily feed 3 adults. They were extremely generous with the ingredients and that was unexpected. Tons of mushrooms and squids. Spring rolls were alright. Nothing too fanciful here. Massaman Curry, unfortunately, contained prawn base so I didn't get to try. When I first came they used to sell Thai Iced Tea. Not anymore, unfortunately, which is disappointing for me.

With a stunning view, eclectic Scandanavian-inspired decor, and delicious food, Scroggin Coffee and Eatery is the perfect spot to enjoy a Wānaka brunch. The cafe boasts a cosy fire in winter and big open windows in summer to take in the views. If you're just after a coffee, try their cold brew option roasted by Flight.

We were recommended to this place by a holiday park employee. Well worth the long wait. Employees seemed nice but the one waitress never seemed to smile. She was very busy. Coffee was ah-mazing! As was the chocolate banana bread! Comfortable atmosphere and nice ambiance!
Good coffee. Nice atmosphere! Reason 3 star is food. Mushroom and Kale toast was weird acid taste and It look like pate. Serve with cold chips. Ummm wouldn’t order again.
What a fascinating place! The food was great and staffs are nice. There are lots of people that made us wait, but the stunning view through the huge window terrace will stop you to think that way.

Kika is a delightful, sushi-focused Japanese restaurant in Wanaka, New Zealand that offers a unique dining experience. Seasonal menus featuring inventive sushi and sashimi options as well as intriguing variations on tempura make it an ideal spot to enjoy a quick bite with friends or family. The restaurant's cleverly designed layout allows couples and small groups to dine comfortably side by side while the knowledgeable staff provides courteous service.

Had an amazing birthday dinner here for my partner. We are vegan - the food was amazing and the service was fast. All the meals were delicious. Highly recommend the "Just Feed Me" option if you have a few people who can help eat it all, otherwise ask for a take out container. It makes a great meal the next day too! Perfect for vegans - so many options. Our daughter had KFC (Kika Fried Chicken and Creme Brulee for dessert). Very clean, warm and comfortable restaurant. Highly recommended.
Surprised that such an amazing restaurant is tucked away in the hidden nook and crannies of Wanaka. ALL the piccolos were on point! Each one was better than the next. Produce was fresh, flavours were balanced, and the dishes were not derivative of one another. Actually their main dish was probably the biggest let down (the lamb), but still delicious. Two most stunning dishes were the beef tartare and the gnocchi. Honourable mentions include the seared tuna and the venison and beetroot. The mulled wine was also sublime. Pity that we'll only get to eat here once on the trip, but was very glad for the suggestion.
Good dinning place at wanaka. We opt ‘just feed me’ from menu for surprises everything was great except the main chicken dish was not great. PICCOLO(starter) and dessert were great really enjoyed that.

Amigos is a popular Mexican restaurant in Wanaka that caters for all palates and dietary needs. The menu offers an incredible selection of margaritas and cocktails, as well as delicious dishes such as pork belly, quesadillas, burritos and churros. Additionally, the cozy interior will keep you warm in the colder months.

Yesterday we had a great experience at Amigos Wanaka. We were greeted by a lovely waiter who had us seated in no time. Our food options were huge and all sounded delicious. We opted for the bar choice drink in a jar and both had really decent sized meals. The meals were fresh, flavorsome and vibrant. Couldn't have asked for more and I can't wait to come back!
This was my favorite place from the start. The service from start to finish was awesome. The young lady was very inviting and lovely. The food was great. First time I've ever eaten prawns at all and the coconut prawn in the taco was great. My favorite was the mixed grill platter. Oh so tasty.
Great vegan options here! We had starters, mains and some cocktails and they were all delicious. Staff are very knowledgable about the vegan options and the guy who was serving us was really passionate and friendly. The biggest shame of this place is that we don't have time to go back.

If you're looking for an exquisite dining experience, Kota Restaurant and Bar is the perfect place to go in Wanaka. From sweet and sour to tangy and fragrant dishes, this restaurant has something for everyone. In addition to food, Kota also has some of the best local wines around, making it the perfect spot to relax after a day of skiing or hiking.

The menu had a broad range of cuisines which at first had me suspicious if they’d be good but the beef I had was cooked perfectly and packed with flavour - the whole meal was great.
One of the best restaurants in Wanaka by far, delicious sharing plates cooked to perfection & packed with flavour! Great service and drink selection although the restaurant can be loud at times, highly recommend dining here.
A great new restaurant/bar in Wanaka. Enjoyed a fabulous meal - the food was excellent. Friendly and helpful staff and positioned with a fantastic view of the lake and town with outdoor seating on the balconies. Well worth a visit, even if you are a local.

The Jack Rabbit Restaurant and Bar is a popular Wanaka establishment that offers an extensive menu of food and drinks. It's conveniently located next to a cinema and rock climbing facility, making it perfect for larger groups.

Don't often give 5 stars but I had such a great experience. Great food. I had a late breakfast which lasted me all the way up roys peak. Staff were all genuinely friendly and welcoming. More than happy to help with directions and tips. Thank you.
Our main are great. Ribs are tender and full of flavor. Steak are cooked perfectly medium. Only shame is spicy chicken wings is way too salty, squid is a bit greasy. But the sauce of squid is delicious....
We loved our experience here, and ended up coming back twice! We had gone here before when it was the Lone Star and were unimpressed, but these guys have definitely turned it around. Child friendly, and good sized portions after a hard days skiing. Also get a good view into the climbing wall place next door while you are eating! Kids loved the make it yourself ice cream sundae bar.

MonkeyFarm Eatery & Store is a great spot to enjoy burgers, pizzas, and fries on the go - with no dress code, the restaurant is perfect for the whole family. The service today was excellent, with polite girls on front of house speeding up food delivery and ensuring all flavours were top notch.

Great service today The girls on front of house were super nice, food came out fast and all tasted great. Perfect spot for the family with the playground and outdoor area
Friendly with a great pub quiz night (We turned up as a couple, got paired with another couple, and WON!), has a reasonable selection of wine or beer, and great menu ranging from shared snacks to full-on meals. Daytime service appears to be a bit slow and affected by lack of international staff at the moment, but if you've got the time for an excellent relaxing brunch, you'll love it!
Great Venue. Had the portobello pizza but was button mushrooms. Thick milkshake not great or thick and used chocolate sauce for flavour.

Fedeli Cafe is a popular vegan cafe in Wanaka that offers delicious food options to take with you on your adventures outside of town. With salads, sammies, wraps and pies available, there's something for everyone. The 'cheese' scone is a must-try!

What a lovely and pleasant place. I tried three salads with medium size, and everything was great!! Their takeaway cup is reusable metal cup, and it is nice to keep. If I go back to Wanaka, I will definitely go this place again.
Hidden gem down a little alley, but what a great find. Food was delicious, matcha latte was perfect. Pastries and coffee were spot on. Will definitely be coming back to this place as it's my favourite cafe in Wanaka. Looks like a lot of the locals like coming here.
We stopped here before our Isthmus Peak hike to grab some snacks for the trail, a cheese scone and a date scone. Both were delicious and the perfect pick-me-up during a grueling hike. My only regret was not getting more!

The Wanaka Speight's Ale House is a welcoming gastropub that locals and travelers enjoy. They have clearly marked menus with gluten-free and modified options, lending an inclusive experience. With a cozy fire outside, they are the perfect spot to spend a winter evening.

Very nice. Chill vibes, tidy and speedy service. Well priced beers, we had two for $20 👌 Food was delicious. Definitely worth stopping in!
Very busy, slow service but waitress was excellent. I had the beef burger - the meat patty was a little dry. Others at our table had the steak, ribs and Caesar salad and enjoyed their meals …
Usually a big fan of Speights Ale House dining but I'll probably give this venue a miss next time. Could have just been bad luck but my steak sandwich was rubbish compared to their other sites and staff not very accommodating nor friendly. Again this is only based on my one experience and as a company Speights Ale House is usually awesome.

At Alchemy you can enjoy great coffee, delicious food and stunning views of Black Peak. The cafe is open seven days a week, with happy hour starting at 4pm until 6pm every day. In the evenings it transforms into a wine bar with even more amazing views of the lake.

A five star dinner experience without doubt! We have been here for over a week now travelling the South Island and this is the best meal we have had yet! Waiting staff were attentive and friendly, service was prompt and professional, food was exceptional and tasty (and reasonably priced for the quality), it came out in waves and at a perfect pace. A snack a small plate two large plates and a dessert were perfect, although could probably have squeezed in something else (a side maybe)! The lamb was exquisite and I would highly recommend it! A great lakeside location with a relaxing atmosphere. Top top meal!
Great coffee, good breakfast. I enjoyed the breakfast tacos, something a bit different to most kiwi cafes.
Adore this cafe’s vibe. Great coffee, food and staff. My go to breakfast spot when in Wānaka and when I need to get some mahi done with a great view and coffee.

This hip and funky café serves up delicious home-style dishes in a relaxed atmosphere. There is seating inside and out, as well as a cafe onsite serving the best coffee in town. The menu features a variety of slow cooked meat dishes, as well as vegetarian and vegan options.

As a vegetarian this was the first place I found in Wanaka to visit and I was not disappointed! I love the way you choose what size and number of cooked foods/salads you want. Every choice was super tasty. Perfect for a veggie/carnivore couple!
I have had takeaway dinner twice from here since arriving in Wanaka. It is wholesome food, home cooked meals, and a healthy option for takeaway. Choose small, medium or large. Choose one meat and between 4 - 6 sides depending on the size. I tried the chicken one night and meatballs the second night. Both were nice but the meatballs had no sauce served in the takeaway container so they were a bit dry and lacked flavour. Medium ($21) portion was a bit too much for me but I'm not sure if small would be enough. Both times I got medium and thought I should have gone for small. It is a home cooked dinner away from home. If you want something healthy and tasty I can highly recommend this place!
One of the best restaurants in NZ. Would definitely recommend if you’re in Wanaka. You can choose a variety of dishes per plate. The meat is very tender and full of flavor. Everything is made from scratch, creative and wholesome. The cakes and desserts are very good too.

Ritual espresso cafe is a café with delicious food for vegetarians, gluten free people, vegans and others living without animal products. It offers takeout service so you can enjoy the food on the go. The cafe is beautifully designed and perfect for kids.

Some of the most delicious coffee we’ve had in New Zealand. Care clearly goes into the drinks that are served here rather than a side thought. I’ve not had a long black served as a double espresso with hot water on the side to make it as long or as short as you like but I love this concept. Thank you for delicious coffee!
Very disappointed with coffee , not as ordered and weak and milky. Would not recommend. In response to your reply, your comments must relate to another customer as my coffee was a take away. Could not return to your shop ,as we were on a tour bus. I did not drink the coffee.
Coffee is good! A more chocolate my blend Coffee is usually a double espresso shot so no need to ask for a double shot unless you want 4 shots of espresso. (I didn’t ) The gluten free chocolate and raspberry brownie is a double yum!!! Huge shout out to the staff who patiently worked out how to help two ladies who spoke no English work out what they wanted, needed and how to make the currency work! That. Was. Impressive.

Sasanoki Japanese Kitchen is a great japanese restaurant with friendly staff and wonderful owner who served authentic sashimi dinner. The food is very reasonable price and the portion size is good. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Great Japanese restaurant, friendly staff and wonderful owner who served us authentic sashimi dinner. Very reasonable price, $28 for 12 piece of very fresh sashimi. I will come back anytime for another great meal.
Had the tonkatsu $29 and shoyu ramen $27. Great service and good food. On the pricy side for the portion size.
Not worthable for food... Overpriced and taste fair. $28 sashimi, not fresh and very small piece. $42 bento, overpriced. $29 fried pork main course, even dont want to take pic anymore... Highly not recommended unless ur very rich
